Meeting Follow-Up, Photo Gallery Update, and Beaver Run Replacement

Bert McKee Memorial

Thank you to everyone who attended the recent members meeting. Here are a few updates and followup items:

Water Line Replacement on Beaver Run
Work is scheduled to begin this week on the water line replacement project along Beaver Run. Please use caution in the area and be aware of equipment and crews during construction hours.

Cross-Connection Control Policy Handbook
During the meeting we addressed the California Cross-Connection Control Policy Handbook. This important 84-page document outlines key guidance and regulations for protecting our drinking water system from cross-contamination. You can read more about the policy and review the handbook here: California CCCPH Handbook

Additionally, I created a custom ChatGPT AI assistant to help you explore the contents of the handbook. You can ask it questions directly here: Cross-Connection Control ChatGPT Please remember this is posted for informational purposes only. Since the rules are still under consideration, some information may change. The VL Water company will continue to monitor the progress of these rules and will advise the community accordingly.

Photo Gallery Additions
We’ve added two new sets of images to the community photo gallery:

  • Opening Day of Trout Season 2025
Photos by Daryl Simmons capture the snowy day in April and the thick lake ice, measuring nearly six feet in places! In some of the photos you may notice the boring gear used in making the fishing holes.
  • Bert McKee Memorial (July 6, 2025)
A tribute to Bert McKee, a longstanding and beloved member of the Virginia Lakes community.

Please take a moment to browse the updated gallery and stay tuned for more summer updates.
