Bear Trap Removed from Virginia Lakes Area

DFW has continued tracking the bear that was recently in the Virginia Lakes area. The bear has now moved over the hill into the Green Creek area.

The bear trap that had been placed here was removed yesterday. It is being relocated closer to the bear’s current location in Green Creek.

Residents and visitors may notice that the trap is no longer in place. This does not mean the situation is over; DFW is still monitoring the bear and responding based on its movements.

Please continue to use caution, secure all food and trash, and report any bear activity in the area.
