Virginia Lakes water system startup and certification: success!

Coordination and preparation began Friday, May 15, with the startup team — Steve, Ross, Chris, Jeff, and Eric — working through the weekend to get the system up and running. After startup, the sequence of required water samples were collected and submitted to Mono County in Mammoth for review.
We received approval from the Mono County Environmental Health Department this morning, May 22, 2026, and are now certified to begin serving water to our members!
Hats off to our amazing volunteers. This was truly a team effort! We have been checking the system daily, and we are happy to report that no leaks were detected.
Special thanks also to Cathy and MaGee for food support during startup weekend.
The board meeting on May 21 was completed with all board members in attendance. Everything is on track for a fun and water-filled summer at Virginia Lakes.
Trash service at the dumpster is also starting back up. Please remember that no construction materials are allowed, and please break down boxes so there is room for everyone’s trash. Thanks in advance for helping keep things tidy.
Please mark your calendars for the Annual Member Meeting at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, July 4, 2026. We will be coordinating shade and snacks for everyone.
As always, please contact us if you would like to volunteer.
We’ll see you soon at Virginia Lakes.
